I'll admit it, lace shawls are my favorite things to knit. You don't need to worry about whether you knit too tightly or too loose, and they look gorgeous. To people who think that they are for old ladies, screw you. There is always time for shawls (except during heatwaves). I am a bit of a knitting geek, so I will be going on a bit. If you're not a knitter, just enjoy the prettiness.
Vernal Equinox Shawl by gnomethedroll is magnificent. While most of the beauty of it comes from the hand-dyed yarn used, I can't stop staring at the nice open stockinette and well executed lace section.
Blocked Shawl 2 by LillianAltair blows my mind. This would have taken a ridiculously long time with the intricate lace, fine yarn and the sheer size of it. Simply amazing.
Traveling Woman by MedusaDari is a well executed shawl, and one of my favourite versatile patterns as it is.
Medusa Shawl Pattern by StrangeKnits is such a cool pattern. I really want to knit this.
Forest Canopy Shawl by laramide-orogeny is one of those patterns that I keep in my ravelry queue but haven't tried. This version of it is gorgeous.

I feel strange posting journals on deviantART again, it feels so foreign to me.
My creative tastes have changed a lot since I've been away, while I used to be really into drawing and painting, I've started knitting and making more music.
So my submissions here will likely involve a lot of knitting and lyrics. You have been warned. :P

shawls are pretty neat. i don't think they're for old ladies, but there is a certain "retro-chic" appeal in them (and i don't give a fuck if that sounds pretentious...).
